I love this and it's come at exactly the right time for me. I've recently ended a romantic connection with someone (also a Music Man!), but we both want to remain in each other's lives as friends. Am struggling with the 'how' of this because it's not something I've ever managed before. So this has prompted me to send them an invitation to hang out sometime in the new year and to let them know how much the connection has meant to me, even if it didn't turn out to be a romantic one. P.s I really enjoy the whole concept of this series, revisiting your dating experiences.

I had a similar experience with someone I met on tinder. We matched when I was in Seattle visiting and started talking, but we couldn’t see each other much because we lived in different cities. He comes to my city every few months to visit family and I offered that he could stay with me when he’s here and he took me up on it. So now every few months he comes and stays with my housemate and I and we’ve all become good friends. We were never physical and we never talked about becoming friends it just happened. And every time he stays I realize I like him a lot but would never want to date him because we’re so different.

Wow, offering a place to crash but it never became sexual? That’s such a subtle line to have threaded.

Honestly I think it did! This is the first one where I was like oh this rly did something. But verdict is still out on whether for good or for bad. I might update when I have more clarity in some time

Really appreciate stories like these that capture the nuances of dating amidst what feels like very black & white/oversimplified online dating discourse!

Who the heck /likes/ ambiguous feelings!? To be fair, I do have OCD, lol.

I feel like you're out there in the field surveying the land with a magnifying glass! Thank you for what you do!
